Nicky Low is a Bankie

Clydebank FC are excited to announce the arrival of ex-Aberdeen, Dundee and Arbroath midfielder Nicky Low on a deal until the end of the season.

The 31-year-old joins us from Arbroath, where he had been out on loan to League One side Kelty Hearts, and met up with his new teammates for the first time this week.

Nicky explained: “I was obviously at Kelty Hearts and had just extended my loan there but I’ve got a bit of a family issue that needs me being closer to home. I know a good few of the boys here, and I heard there was a chance to come here which is a club with a lot of history. I wanted to come somewhere where it felt right, where the facilities are good and from speaking to Moff, I think here will be good for me.

Low revealed the Inverclyde based Bankies were also a key part in getting the deal over the line, adding: “I spoke to players like big Creag, Nicky and Jamie Darroch because I didn’t want to go in somewhere and think this isn’t for me. They spoke really highly of everyone involved around the place, the set up, ambition and the fanbase. It all makes sense, and the fact I’m closer to home helps, so hopefully I can kick on and help the team.”

Bankies boss Gordon Moffat added: “It’s been quite a long drawn out process but Nicky is a quality player from way up the levels so he will come in and really help us until the end of the season.

“It might be one that will raise a few eyebrows but it’s credit to everything going on at the club that Nicky wanted to come and play his football here. It managed to tick a lot of boxes for him with the travelling he was doing, plus he already has some friends at the club.

“He adds masses of quality to our midfield, and even within an hour of watching his first training session on Tuesday, you’re kind of laughing at the quality he has got so we are very lucky to have him in with us.”
