We are delighted to announce the arrival of Ikechi Eze on loan from Stranraer until the end of the season.

The 26-year-old joins Gordon Moffat’s Bankies having made 11 appearances for the Blues since his summer switch to Stair Park.

Ikechi said: “The gaffer at Stranraer spoke with Gordon about me coming out on loan to get some game time and enjoy my football, and I jumped at the opportunity because it sounded like something that would excite me.

“I spoke to the manager about how we attack in the final third and how we build up from the back. That’s something I look at in my game, so it seemed like a good fit.”

The London born midfielder headed north last summer and spent time on trial at Arbroath before signing with Jamie Hamill’s Stranraer in League Two. Eze added: “When I came up in the summer, the weather was fantastic, now it’s a little bit different!

“I was actually playing in Bulgaria just before that, so when the season finished there I came home and ended up with a trial up there at Arbroath and that’s how I came to Scotland.”

Bankies boss Gordon Moffat said: “It is a move that has gone back and forth for a wee while now. Stranraer – and Jamie Hamill – have been amazing to deal with and really accommodating.

“As most people will know from my post match rantings, we have needed a few bodies in for a while now.

“Ikechi is someone with a good pedigree and has played at a good level in England, as well as playing abroad and doing a pre-season with Arbroath. He can do a few different roles in midfield, and having lost Chris Black and Joe Slattery to a medium term injury of late, he will give us real options there.”
