Adam Hodge to depart

After five seasons and over 150 appearances, Adam Hodge will depart the Bankies this summer.

Having first joined the club in the summer of 2021 from Hurlford United, Adam has played a fundamental role in the club’s trajectory and success over the past five years.

Being part of the first Clydebank team to represent the club in the Scottish Cup in 20 years, Adam was a mainstay in the side that reached the fourth round on that now memorable run, beating SPFL sides Elgin and Clyde en route.

A recipient of the Bobby Wood Award in 2021, Hodgey then became a league and promotion winner with the club last season.

Never shy of a, (ahem!), tough tackle – Adam moves on with our thanks for all his efforts as a Bankie and we wish him and his family the best of luck for the future.

Manager Gordon Moffat explained: “Sad is probably the first emotion when it comes to losing a player like Hodgey. When we spoke, we said that he was a big driving force in terms of the new era of us being here and the evolution of the team. He has lived everything in terms of what we wanted and was part of the leadership group, and that was one of the main reasons for that. We’re sad to see him go and would have loved to have kept him on for another year, but we fully understand his reasons for why he’s moving on with stuff going on in his personal life that suits him just being closer to home. That’s totally understandable and sometimes in football it’s easy to forget that, so we fully respect that and we definitely wish him well. He’s been a great servant over five seasons and 150 odd appearances, so we’ve got nothing but positive things to say about Hodgey.”

Adam added: “It’s been an amazing five years playing for Clydebank, but for my own personal circumstances I feel the time is right to move on and be closer to home. Huge thanks to the gaffer and his backroom team who have been brilliant for me and great to work with. To the board and fans, I really appreciate every ounce of support from yourselves towards me, it will always be remembered and I know how lucky I was to be wearing your colours week in week out. Lastly to the boys I shared a pitch with, that’s what makes it so special, we’ve created some unreal memories together and I really hope yous keep driving to deliver success for the club cos yous absolutely deserve it. All the best, ‘mon the Bankies.”
