Nicky Little calls time on record-breaking Clydebank career

After 352 appearances and 209 goals, Clydebank captain Nicky Little has called time on his record breaking Bankies career after 11 incredible years.

Having recently celebrated his testimonial year, Nicky has now taken the difficult decision to pursue a new opportunity in search of more regular game time, closing the chapter on one of the most memorable careers in the club’s recent history.

Nicky’s Clydebank journey could have begun even earlier than it did, with a move Down Under delaying his signing by a year. True to his word, he promised then boss Budgie McGhie he would put pen to paper upon his return, and sure enough, the papers were signed and Nicky became a Bankie in the summer of 2015.

21 goals in each of his first two seasons saw him then take a short ‘sabbatical’, only to return Holm in 2018 and from there, has never looked back. First, came Mark Hailstones’ modern day record, then Ken Eadie’s all time record before breaking through the 200 goal mark in 2025.

Such was his leadership on the park, Nicky was handed the club captaincy in the summer of 2020, and has since led the club back into the senior pyramid and Scottish Cup, represented not just the club but our town with distinction. There have been goals from the halfway line, shocks against SPFL opposition, but more importantly memories for life along the way.

Nicky was also the first captain to lead a Clydebank side to a league title when he proudly lifted the West of Scotland Premier Division trophy aloft in 2025, the same year he led the club out at Hibs’ Easter Road after we reached the fourth round for the second time in three years as a tier six club.

It goes without saying that everyone associated with Clydebank FC would like to place on record our thanks to Nicky for his professionalism, dedication and commitment over a remarkable 11-season period. He and his family will always be welcome back at Holm Park, and we wish him all the very best with his future career.

Once a Bankie, always a Bankie.

Thank, you Skip.
