We are delighted to announce Neil McLaughlin has signed a two-year extension – keeping him with the club until 2029!
The 27-year-old has enjoyed a brilliant start to his Bankies career, scoring 29 goals in 40 appearances across his maiden season, earning him almost a clean sweep of awards at our Player of the Year night back in April.
The ex-Partick Thistle, East Kilbride, Caledonian Braves and St Cadoc’s forward has picked up where he left off this season, with his winning double in our 2-0 success over East Fife on Saturday taking him to 17 goals for the season – by the end of September.
After penning his extension, Neilly said: “I’m just delighted to get it over the line. Once I knew it was something Moff and Grace were keen to do I just wanted it done and it lets me focus on the games.
“As everybody from outwith Clydebank can see, it’s a club on the up. When you’re in it, you realise it’s the best place to play your football with the staff, players, fans and people around the club. It’s just a great place to be and I thoroughly enjoy it.
“It’s been a good start to the season. For a striker or wide man you want to get goals and assists, and once you get one you can just continue on. One minute you can be playing football through teams, the next you are fighting against defenders at the back. We’ve got players in this team who can do both sides of the game and I think you saw that this week alone. You can see the nice football we can play in the winner against St Mirren B on Tuesday, then also the long ball from Scotty (Forrester) for the equaliser against Pollok.
