Clydebank FC is delighted to announce the signing of attacking midfielder Lancelot Pollard from Albion Rovers.
The 18-year-old ex-Aberdeen, Rangers, Sparta Rotterdam and Montrose man joins us on a deal until the end of the 2026/27 season.
Clydebank manager Gordon Moffat commented: “It has probably been a few weeks in the making to be honest but we’re delighted to get there in the end with him. We obviously played Albion Rovers not too long ago and because of that we’re watching a lot of footage and games in the Lowland League as you would imagine with us being new to the division. He was someone who really stood out to us but we waited and wanted to show Albion Rovers some respect until we had played them, then I’d spoken to Sandy (Clark) about it and we’ve managed to get something done.
“He’s 18-years of age and is an amazing young talent. We know he’ll still have wee bits of pieces to learn how to fit in with us off the ball but what a talent he is. He’s got that real youthful energy and enthusiasm and everyone can see his ability on the ball. Those areas behind the striker, whether it’s the 10 or wide, he gives us another option. It’s something we’ve been looking at in terms of bringing that bit of youthfulness with legs and energy to the group.
“Speaking to Lancelot and his father, there is going to be that wee settling in period with us but we’ve already seen in this division that he can perform at a very high level. We’ll have to maybe wait to see him as he got a wee kick in his calf in the last game he played for Albion Rovers but hopefully we can get him back training in the next week or two and we’ll see him.”
