January – Bankies bring the Sunshine to Leith

Clydebank had to wait three weeks for their first game of 2025, and the occasion was worth the wait. Over 2,500 Bankies travelled through to Easter Road to back the team in our 3-0 Scottish Cup defeat at Hibs, a momentous day that set the tone for the rest of the calendar year. We then made sure there was no cup hangover from the highs of the Hibees tie, edging out Shotts Bon Accord 1-0 the following week.

February – Bankies find their rhythm to beat the Drum

Despite exiting the South Challenge Cup, Bankies maintained their unbeaten league run with four wins and a draw from their five matches. Captain Nicky Little became the club’s all time record goalscorer when he surpassed Ken Eadie’s total of 176 – and received a specially commissioned illustrated match ball to commemorate the milestones. The biggest result though, arguably came at a sold out Donald Dewar Centre where there were fireworks as we battered Drumchapel United 4-0 under the lights.

March – A mammoth month

Three rescheduled games set up a mammoth month of eight games packed in, with seven wins and a draw helping the club to within three points of the title. Midweek wins over Gartcairn, Troon and Auchinleck Talbot undoubtedly proved crucial – but the most memorable moment perhaps came when Ciaran Mulcahy popped up with an injury time winner in our last gasp win at home over the Drum.

April – Fairytales and Silverware

Heading into April 25 points clear of Johnstone Burgh, Bankies were officially crowned WoSFL Premier Division Champions after their 5-0 demolition of Benburb at New Tinto Park – coupled with Burgh’s 1-0 defeat away at Cumnock.  The only blot on the copy book was the 3-0 defeat to Largs the following week, but we’ll claim there were mitigating factors for that one… We rounded off the month by finally getting our hands on the trophy in front of a packed out Holm Park crowd, in a game which also saw a fairytale ending to Clydebank legend Jamie Darroch’s playing career as he netted a late penalty before hanging up his boots.

May – Over the Line

After rounding off our league campaign with victories over Darvel and Troon respectively, came the big ones. A two-legged play-off against East of Scotland champions Musselburgh Athletic to decide who got the one space in the Lowland League. Despite losing an early goal at Olivebank, Keir Samson’s brave header levelled the tie. Second half strikes from Craig Truesdale and Nicky Little eventually clinched promotion in the second leg in front of over 1,200 and Bankies had done it – we got Over the Line.

June – Rest and Recover

While the Champions were living it up in Ibiza, plans were already afoot as preparations for our foray into tier five ramped up. With the nucleus of the squad signed up, three moved on while we welcomed Owen Stott, Neil McLaughlin, Stuart McCann and Arran Preston. Bankies fans and the wider town once again got behind their local club, with over 400 season tickets snapped up before a ball was kicked.

July – A New Era

After a successful pre-season programme, Bankies picked up where they left off by winning more silverware in the form of the West of Scotland’s Charity Cup after beating old foes Auchinleck Talbot 4-1. That set everything up nicely for flag day, which saw us earn a 2-0 win at home over East Stirlingshire on the opening afternoon of our inaugural Lowland League campaign. It was a special occasion at Holm Park, which saw us unfurl our first Championship flag since 2004, with captain Nicky Little grabbing both goals in the Shire victory. Momentum continued to build for our trip to Cumbernauld Colts where we took over 400 fans to Broadwood for a 2-1 victory – and don’t worry Deano – yes we caught that one.

August – Announcing our arrival

A month which saw us twice win 5-0 yielded 14 out of an available 18 points, with points being dropped in 1-1 and 3-3 draws at home to Cowdenbeath and Berwick Rangers respectively. A last minute winner under the lights at home to Stirling Uni and a ‘feisty’ five star showing at Foresters Park the most notable league encounters. Gordon Moffat’s men also racked up a thumping 11-0 win over tier eight side The Swifts, our highest scoring victory since a 14-0 win at Eglinton in 2022.

September – 200 not out

Bankies unbeaten start to the season continued into September, with victories at home to Bo’ness and away to Gretna 2008. It was at Raydale Park where skipper Nicky Little added another accolade to his growing list of accomplishments as he secured his 200th goal in Clydebank colours. While our South Challenge Cup quest came to an end at the second round stage following a penalty shootout defeat away to Linlithgow, we did progress in the Scottish Cup with a comfortable 4-0 win over East of Scotland challengers Jeanfield Swifts in Perth.

October – McLaughlin’s Month

Despite suffering our first league defeat of the campaign at Bonnyrigg, much of October belonged to summer signing Neil McLaughlin. The attacker grabbed five goals across the month, and scoring in four successive matches after netting against Albion Rovers, Gala Fairydean Rovers, Bo’ness United and the Rose. 378 miles were also racked up on the road, and we were once again backed brilliantly by the travelling Bankies faithful.

November – More Brilliant Backing

The crowds kept coming in November as we kicked off the month with a convincing 4-0 win at home over a young Celtic B side in front of a packed out Holm Park. Despite then losing out away at title challengers Broxburn, we picked up another 1000+ gate when Linlithgow Rose came calling – but the sides couldn’t be separated as it ended 1-1. We saw out the month by taking another strong travelling support down to Stair Park, where ten man Clydebank were edged out 2-1 after extra time by SPFL League Two side Stranraer.

December – Top of the tree

Despite an ‘unacceptable’ start to December with defeat at Caledonian Braves, Moff’s men saw out the calendar year with three successive victories. A midweek success under the Forthbank lights saw Bankies edge out the Students 3-2, before Aaron Black hit the winner at a rain soaked Holm Park in our 1-0 win over Civil Service Strollers. Neil McLaughlin and Lee Gallacher – scoring twice on his 200th appearance – stole the show as Bankies closed out 2025 with a 5-0 thumping of Gretna 2008.
