CLYDEBANK Football Club are proud to unveil a special home kit to mark the 75th anniversary of the Clydebank Blitz.

At least 528 people lost their lives in the Luftwaffe bombing raids, which took place between 13th-14th March 1941.

Bankies will debut the white Nike strip for the first time on the 12th March away to Kilsyth Rangers, and will wear the kit for the month of March. The kit features an commemorative embroidered badge and sleeve (shown below).

The shirts will be available to sponsor for £75, with profits being split between Erskine Hospital and St Margaret of Scotland Hospice.

Due to demand sponsorship may need to be balloted, however replica shirts are available to order.

Clydebank FC chairman Gordon Robertson said: “The Clydebank Blitz is one of the defining events in the history of the town.”

“Hundreds of people lost their lives and only a handful of houses survived without damage.”

“Our club wanted to mark the anniversary of the Blitz by paying respect to those who suffered on those two terrible nights of bombing.”
